Welcome to St Maarten

updated - March 20, 2012

St Maarten is the Netherlands (Dutch) side of the island shared by namesake French St Martin. The old saying is eat on the French side, play on the Dutch. That's not necessarily true today, as both side offer an almost endless list of restaurants to choose from.

To get acquainted with the island, a car rental excursion can be lots of fun, but caution should be exercised for the free range livestock that can appear out of nowhere to the busy sightseer.

With over a dozen hotel casinos on the Dutch side, nightlife is not wanting. By day, the island's coral reefs teem with life that enjoys crystal clear visibility.

St Maarten

Shares this Caribbean island paradise with her French counterpart, St Martin. St Maarten sits on the south side of the island, while St Martin has dominion over the north.
